You may remember that the Friends have been working for some time to get some additional playground equipment in Lloyd Park, and we did a survey late last year to gather views from local parents. This showed most people would like better climbing facilities, so we are working with Waltham Forest Council to scope two climbing frames. The first is for tots, and might include a slide, tunnel and mirrors, for toddlers and non-walkers to be able to use with limited assistance. The second is for older children and might include bridges, turrets, hiding places, upright climbing, monkey bars and a slide (in place of or added to the existing climbing frame, to offer greater challenges).
The project is going out to tender this month and when the council comes back with designs, we will be inviting you to help us choose the best. Installation should be before the Easter holidays.
